Companion Training
If you have someone who flies with you on a regular basis Performance Flight offers a companion program. Perhaps a spouse, child, or business associate, this person frequently joins you when you fly. The commitment of both time and money, or a lack of interest in becoming a pilot may preclude them from learning to fly. However, our non-certification based program teaches these individuals several techniques that will allow them to assist a pilot. Skills such as landing, radio communications, and CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) will be taught. This is a wonderful confidence builder for your passengers and lets them enjoy the experience with you. Our advanced simulator features copilot controls so your companion can train side-by-side with you, while an instructor guides you through various training exercises.
Companion training packages includes 2 hours of ground school to discuss the types of situations that might require their intervention and an overview of what will be learned. Five hours of simulator training are included with an instructor and 3 hours with a technician. Two hours of those with the instructor should have you, as the PIC, attending with your companion. Additionally, 5 hours of flying time will be completed with an instructor allowing your companion to actually fly the plane and practice real life scenarios including landings.
